What happens to your chat

Last updated 3 October 2026

The short versionYour chat file is opened and read on your own phone or computer. It is never uploaded. To write your report, a short summary and a small set of example lines (with phone numbers, emails and links blacked out) are sent once for reading, and then forgotten. We don't keep a copy of anything.

1. What stays on your device

When you choose your WhatsApp export, your browser opens it and counts everything locally: who sent how many messages, at what hours, how fast each of you replies, which emoji you use. The full chat file never leaves your device.

2. What is sent, and why

To turn those counts into a written report, Sense sends one request containing:

Before it goes, Sense shows you this exact content on screen, and nothing is sent until you tap Send for reading.

3. Who reads it

The request goes from our server to OpenRouter, which passes it to an AI language model that writes the report text. Our server does not save the request or the report, and does not log chat content. OpenRouter and the model provider handle the request under their own privacy policies. We choose providers that do not use API requests to train their models.

4. Where your report lives

Your finished report is kept only in your browser's temporary session storage. It disappears when you close the tab, and you can wipe it at any time with Delete everything at the end of your report. We have no copy to delete on our side.

5. Email, if you ask for it

If you choose to email yourself a summary, we send it through our email provider (Resend) to the address you type. We don't add you to any list and we don't keep the address afterwards.

6. Payments

Payments are handled by our payment partner. Your card, UPI or bank details go straight to them; we never see or store them. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.

7. Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly analytics to see which pages are used and where people get stuck. Report and chat areas are masked from analytics, so their text is never recorded.

8. The other person in your chat

A chat always involves someone else. Please only use Sense on conversations you are part of, and never to monitor, pressure or embarrass anyone. Sense is meant for people aged 18 and over.

9. Questions

If anything here is unclear, get in touch. We answer every privacy question personally.
